Shop Drawing Technician

This is a full-time position within Studio Nada Debs' growing design practice. It is a technical role with the mission to push the studio's design output to an international standard.

The Opportunity

The Shop Drawing Technician translates briefs and sketches into finished shop drawings that are ready for production. The role requires organization and technical knowledge in equal measure. You will follow every step of the drawing checklist process and ensure each drawing sent to production is accurate, comprehensive, and covers all aspects of the design.

Roles & Responsibilities

Projects mainly include shop drawings for customized commissions, variations to catalogue pieces, and new Nada Debs furniture and accessory collections. Key responsibilities:

• Work with the designer to turn creative sketches and briefs into comprehensive, accurate execution drawings
• Prepare clear and legible execution drawings using AutoCAD
• Suggest solutions to resolve design, structural and assembly details
• Work closely with the production coordinator to oversee production, ensure quality and identify improvements
• Ensure projects meet deadlines through clear communication with suppliers and the production, design and sales teams
• Research efficient techniques and materials to improve existing and new products, balancing price, quality and function
• Stay current on design trends and technologies

What We Are Seeking

We are looking for a motivated, organized and adaptable person with solid human values as much as professional credentials, comfortable multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment. Candidates must understand the brand's design values and have a working knowledge of AutoCAD, 3D Studio Max, Rhinoceros, Adobe Suite and Microsoft Office.
