Nada Debs xIrthi Contemporary Crafts Council
2021
Through an ongoing collaboration with Irthi Contemporary Crafts Council, Nada Debs created the Zenobie Collection by weaving together the traditions of Talli and Marquetry. Just as the threads of Talli are interlaced, the collection symbolizes the weaving of two cultures into a shared identity. Inspired by vessels once carried by Bedouin women, the pieces bring together male and female craft practices in hand-woven threads and wood inlay to form new narratives. Eventually reinterpreted as stools and presented at Milan Design Week, the project reflects a continuous journey of transforming heritage into contemporary design.
