Shifted Veneer
Shifted veneer plays with the natural grain of wood, manipulating marquetry techniques to create patterns of movement and depth. Artisans offset and reorient thin wood veneers to build dynamic compositions that seem to shift across the surface. Nada Debs uses this technique to transform static surfaces into ones that feel alive, emphasizing geometry, rhythm, and texture. This approach brings a contemporary energy to the traditional practice of marquetry.
